Leadership

Trevor Maslyk is proud to have been asked to serve as the Chair and Interim Managing Director of Emergency Health Services Alberta, leading Emergency Health Services-Alberta's Provincial Health Corporation. Trevor brings more than 30 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), public policy, emergency management, and adult education.

A registered Advanced Care Paramedic in Alberta for over three decades, Trevor practiced clinically from 1992 to 2005 before moving into leadership roles across municipal, provincial, and academic settings. As an EMS leader in Alberta, Trevor has held senior positions including Director of Emergency Health Services with Alberta Health, Executive Director for Alberta Health Services EMS - Edmonton and North Zones, and Associate Dean at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Most recently, he served as Executive Director of the Emergency Health Services Branch in the Acute Care Division with the Government of Alberta. Trevor is committed to advancing a high-performing, patient-centered emergency health system, designed in collaboration with frontline staff, patients, and communities, while being responsive to the needs of all Albertans.

Emergency Health Services-Alberta is now a Provincial Health Corporation that will manage all aspects of the current EMS system, including overseeing and delivering air and ground ambulance services, interfacility transfers and dispatch operations, including Emergency Health Services-Alberta services delivered by contracted providers. Emergency Health Services-Alberta will be accountable for driving system improvements and meeting performance targets, concentrating on workforce sustainability and mental well-being for both staff and patients.




Our work takes place on historical and contemporary Indigenous lands, including the territories of Treaty 6, Treaty 7 & Treaty 8 and the homeland of the Métis Nation of Alberta and 8 Métis Settlements. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous communities that have been forged in urban centres across Alberta.
